How to Install a Business Website Blog

Adding a blog to your website gives you the ability to create more content about your company and its products or services. This new content increases the chances of users finding your content in search engine results. Hidden domains are one way to add a blog to your website. This method involves creating a subdomain of your site and linking it to your blog. Another way to import blog posts is to send them to a new folder below your website.

Hidden Domain

Log in to the control panel of your blog and unlock the screen by customizing your blog theme. Write the CSS and HTML statements needed to change the theme to match the design of your business website. For example, if a banner on your website's home page shows a logo for your business, write the HTML tag as follows at the top of the blog's landing page:

Read your blog posts for details on changing themes.

Log in to your domain registrar's control panel and use hidden domain building instructions, such as "blog.mysite.com". The face mask allows visitors to see the name of your website in their browser address bar instead of the blog URL.

Use the control panel setting tools to assign a new domain to the URL of your blog.

Use your Web Page Editor to add a new link to the site's navigation controls. Type the URL of your new domain within the attribute of the new href link. For example:

Insert updated pages on your Web server.

Import Blog Pages

Log in to the control panel of your blog and use export instructions to download all of your blog posts.

Open one of the downloaded posts in your Web page editor and use the editor tools to apply your website content to the post. Repeat this step for the remaining downloaded post.

Open the control panel for your website and use the panel instructions to create a new folder under the root directory of your site. Name the new folder "blog" or something similar.

Upload the converted blog pages to the new folder you just created on your website using your FTP service. Download pages of your website using this same app and use your Web page editor to add navigation links to the blog's landing page. Include updated pages on your website.
